I’ve spent more hours than I care to admit wrestling with legacy systems. As a Sales and Marketing Director, I used to think that if a system had many features then we were in good shape. But the reality was anything but. These features weren’t flexible. They weren’t intelligent. They certainly weren’t empowering me to put on sale the products I wanted to sell, let alone create the kinds of value-packed experiences my customers actually wanted.
At Expian, we don’t just deliver features. Especially not features that are an inch deep and a mile wide. We offer flexibility. True flexibility. Our clients can create bespoke packages that mix admissions with entitlements, such as memberships and vouchers; donation options, upgrades, food and beverage add-ons, and even third-party experiences. This flexibility means that, as an example, instead of a single, rigid "membership" feature, our clients now offer curated experiences that appeal to a variety of customer preferences.
What I’ve come to learn, through my experience and a good amount of frustration, is that the services our clients offer are never identical. Therefore, for true individualisation, when looking for a new system, it isn’t a case of ticking a bunch of feature boxes.
At Expian, we have multiple ways to monetise the customer again, best suited to an organisation's own needs.
With Expian, memberships aren’t a static feature; they’re one of the suite of tools, expertly engineered with depth and flexibility that our clients use to design customer-first experiences. It’s part of what we call the Expian Way.
Before, I was locked into the same tired revenue streams. Now, Expian has many options to build meaningful entitlements, over 30 ways to upsell, 15+ options to cross-sell, and countless combinations of value-adds that can be deployed at any point in the customer journey. Pre, during, and post-booking isn’t just a transaction anymore it’s an opportunity to inspire.
That’s the Expian Way. We don’t define success by how many features we have. We define it by how effectively we enable our clients to shape, personalise, and monetise experiences.
